GRANTSVILLE, Utah — Funeral services for four members of the Haynie family killed in a shooting last week will be held Friday, January 24, at noon at the Grantsville Stake Center.

A viewing prior to the services starts at 10 a.m. and finishes at 11:45 a.m. at the same location. Then the family members will be interred at the Grantsville City Cemetery.

Police say, Consuelo Alejandra Haynie, 15-year-old Alexis, 14-year-old Mathew, and 12-year-old Milan were shot and killed in their home Friday night by a teenage family member.

The Tooele School District says counselors will be available starting Tuesday for classmates and teachers where the Haynie children went to school.

The father is now out of the hospital. An older son was away at college. Organizers of a candlelight vigil Monday night read a statement from them.

The investigation into the shooting continues. Police say the teenage suspect they have in custody is not talking to detectives. He has remained in a secure juvenile detention facility since surrendering.

Police have not released any details about how he got the firearm involved in the Grantsville shooting, or how and why the shooting occurred.

An online fundraiser* for the family had raised more than $86,000 as of Tuesday morning.

Organizers say the money raised will go to help cover funeral and medical expenses as well as having the family’s home cleaned and repaired.

Local groups are also raising money. Chubby’s Cafe in Tooele says proceeds next Monday will go toward the Haynie family.
