MIDVALE – The video got a lot of people angry.  However, the 7-11 clerk who was seen being pick-pocketed while having seizure is calling for the hateful messages about the suspect to stop.

Dustin Malone has seen the video, and says it’s hard to watch himself having the seizure.  He also works as a nursing assistant, and has seen it happen to other people, but, never himself.  He also says he’s very grateful to the people who have been wishing him well, but, he believes the comments about suspect Alexandra Dewsnup have gone too far.  He says, “I see a lot of comments about ‘white trash.’  ‘Hang the *****,’ is another one I’ve seen.”

Malone has been contacted by Dewsnup’s mother and has learned she has mental health issues.  Malone says, “As a health care professional, my primary priority is the physical and mental well-being of those who I come in contact with.  She is no exception to that,” adding, “If she truly wants help, I am there for her.”

Dewsnup’s mother has also received her fair share of online hatred, and Malone says she doesn’t deserve it.  “I feel for her, more than anything because she’s having to see all of this.  She lashed back on social media, and I don’t blame her.  I would have done the same thing.”

Malone says Dewsnup needs to be held accountable for her actions, and he’ll have a chance to address her in court.  Meanwhile, he says he’s forgiven Dewsnup, and he doesn’t condone any more angry comments aimed her way.
