A family that knows the importance of buckling up, joined police today to urge utahns to always wear a seatbelt.

Alyson and Michael Simkins had only been married a couple of weeks when he was in a crash. But his life was saved, because he wore a seatbelt. And he wore it because he saw a picture she put on the dashboard asking him to buckle up.

The Simkins told their story to 5th graders in Salt Lake City and helped them take a picture to encourage their parents to always wear a seatbelt.

November 18th beings the two week click it or ticket campaign on the highways.

The Thanksgiving holiday week can be particularly bad. Over the past five years there have been nearly 35-hundred crashes and 20 fatalities.
