A winter storm is expected to be parked over the Wasatch Front all day Friday.

The ski resorts hope it lasts, the Salt Lake Airport tweeted a picture of de-icing planes, and it is making for wet crowds watching the high school championship games at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

People going into the stands could not take their umbrellas, but many had ponchos, blankets, hats and gloves with them.

The National Weather Service said Salt Lake City has a new precipitation record for November 17th. As of 11:30 AM, the official monitoring station recorded receiving  0.76″ of rain. The old record was 0.67″ set way back in 1930.
