Brittany Kidd with UDOT Canyon Patrol says a driver that did not have the proper tires on their car, lost control two weeks ago and crashed right into her vehicle, head-on.

The other driver got out of the car and then it rolled off the cliff. Kidd suffered a concussion.

She wants all drivers to be more careful in the snow, and to realize that when UDOT uses the chain law, it’s for a really good reason.

It’s because the conditions are too bad in the canyon, though they may look just rainy at the bottom.

She says people can be prepared for winter driving right now, by checking their tires, brakes, and windshield wiper fluid. And, in a rain or snow storm, slow down and increase following distance.
