Charging documents state the teenager called 911 shortly after noon on January 16th. When police arrived they said the baby had bruises all over it’s body and was unresponsive. He was transported to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced the child dead and said it was likely he had been dead for some time.

Doctors also noticed the toddler had linear welts on his chest and bottom in addition to the brusing.

Interview notes in the charging documents state that the mother of the child was dating the 17 year old and had noticed situations of abuse over the last two weeks while he was tending the toddler and two other children.

The documents also include a summarized confession from the teen, admitting to hitting the baby with a coat hanger several times and hitting the child’s head against the ceiling, wall and floor.

The teenager is facing two counts of child abuse, second degree felonies, and one county of aggravated murder, a first degree offense.
