CALIFORNIA — Patagonia announced a new platform today that connects locals with environmentalist groups that need volunteers. Utah’s lands debate is featured right at the beginning of their promotional video, as thousands gathered at the state Capitol to protest changes to the Bears Ears National Monument.

When you click on the Action Works brand new website the first words to pop up are “Our public lands and waters are under threat”.

Patagonia Communication Director, Corley Kenna, said the company has been part of environmental activism for the last forty years, and now they want to help locals get involved.

“We wanted to help facilitate people to act locally,” Kenna said, explaining that the website offers up groups and events that need volunteers. “Maybe you want to know where the next big climate march is. This will help with that.”

Patagonia is the same company that led the Outdoor Retailer Show exodus after Utah’s legislature and governor took stands against the Bear Ears National Monument. They also joined a group of organizations suing President Donald Trump when he reduced the size of both Bear’s Ears NM and Grand Staircase-Escalante NM.
