A plow driver is still recovering after being hit by a semi truck in the last storm. Now Udot is asking people to stay behind plows during this upcoming storm.
During the 2016-17 winter season, UDOT snow plows were hit 60 times. In order to curb this trend, UDOT installed new LED light whips to increase visibility of the snow plow wings.
Despite this improved visibility, crashes continue. During last week’s storm, two snow plows were hit as drivers attempted to pass, bringing the total to 11 crashes this winter.
