SALT LAKE CITY — East High School’s community is coming together to improve the washrooms they made for students who are homeless or otherwise in need.

The area was darker and less inviting, now it is bright and colorful.

The school says having the new artwork on the walls shows the students that they are welcome and a part of the school community.

About 80 students have used these laundry and shower facilities since they were built about a year ago.

Many students have taken turns helping the professional artist on the lettering, water features and leopard print.

Community donations and volunteers help the washroom, laundry facilities, clothing boutique and food pantry stay successful.
