SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz officially announced the team signed guard David Stockton to a second 10-day contract today. He is the son of former Utah Jazz Hall of Famer John Stockton.

The younger Stockton has only played in one game in the Utah Jazz’s blowout victory over the Golden State Warriors Sunday. He played the final three minutes and tallied two points, one turnover, and one foul. It was not his lone appearance in an NBA game, however. He suited up and played in a few games for the Sacramento Kings in the 2014-2015 NBA Season.

Stockton also played for the NBA G League’s Reno Bighorns this year. He appeared in 39 games and scored 16.3 points per game and dished out 5.2 assists per game in 28.2 minutes.

He will get another week and a half to see if he can get back on the court again for the team he rooted for as a kid.

“It’s been great,” Stockton said after Sunday’s game. “A good group of guys, great coaching staff, great everything. I’ve had a great experience and hope to continue it.”

His next opportunity to get on the hardwood could be tomorrow as the Jazz host the Boston Celtics with tip off at 7:30 P.M.
