SALT LAKE  CITY – A concert festival aimed at helping the L-G-B-T community feel welcomed and included is returning to Utah in July after its debut last year.

Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds started the concert in 2017 as a way to “ignite the vital conversation about what it means to unconditionally love, understand, accept, and support our LGBTQ friends and family,” according the to the LOVELOUD webiste.

Reynolds also took part in the documentary “Believer” which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Reynolds told KSL Newsradio’s Ethan Millard at the festival he was part of the film to give a LGBT youth a voice and a face to hopefully help them find a place in the walls of faith.

“I’m a Mormon,” Reynolds said. “I feel like there’s a part of our culture that’s really hurting right now and broken and that’s our LGBT youth.”

The LOVELOUD concert will feature Imagine Dragons as well as Zedd, Mike Shinoda, Grace Vanderwaal, Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees, Vagabon, A.W., and others.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go to LGBT charities both locally and nationally, including Provo’s Encircle, a resource center aimed to help LGBT youth and their families.

Online tickets will go on sale April 6th at 10 am. You can also see Reynolds interview at the Sundance Film Festival below.
