SALT LAKE CITY — A winter-like spring storm pounded the Wasatch Front Tuesday morning with snow.

The forecast high is only 49 degrees for the day, with rain and snow expected most of the morning.

It comes after a very windy Monday afternoon ahead of the storm. Wind knocked out power, blew down branches and trampolines, kicked up dust, and piled up the tumbleweeds.

High winds even forced the cancellation of Monday afternoon’s open house tours of the Jordan River LDS Temple.

KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman says Tuesday’s storm should provide 1-2″ in the valleys, 2-4″ for the benches, and more for the mountains.

Wednesday highs are expected to be back in the low 60s.
