After nearly 40 years at KSL Newsradio, talk show host Doug Wright will be stepping back from his five-day per week on-air hosting duties beginning June 4. His last day of full week hosting happens on that four-decade anniversary on June 1.

Wright will continue at the station as a special news consultant and correspondent, providing insight and commentary on top news stories for both KSL-TV and KSL Newsradio. He will also continue to host the popular and long-running “KSL Movie Show” on Fridays from 9 a.m. until noon.

After Doug’s last daily show on June 1, “Dave and Dujanovic” will expand to a full three hours, Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.

“It’s impossible to fill Doug’s shoes,” said Dujanovic. “However, we’ll emulate Doug by doing our best to be inclusive, understanding, and most importantly – by bringing to light the issues affecting Utahns the most.”

Both Dave and Debbie have a strong passion for journalism, and a breadth of experience. Together they create an interesting, balanced show that discusses news and politics.

Dave Noriega jumped into the media fray in 2001 as a news editor and photographer at ABC 4 News in Salt Lake City. He covered such memorable and heartbreaking stories as 9/11, the abduction and return of Elizabeth Smart, and the murder of Lori Hacking. After years of working in news, Dave chased his dream of working at KSL in the sports department.

For the next 12 years, Dave lived the sports life.  He traveled across the world covering: The 2012 London Olympics, two Super Bowls, the Utah Utes’ run at the Fiesta and Sugar Bowls, and countless BYU, Jazz, and high school games. Dave’s most viral internet moment was when he was shooting video at the BYU-Mississippi St. game, one late Saturday night, when he got bulldozed in the end zone by Dayan Lake.

Despite the concussion, Dave’s brain continued to “workish” and has been with the KSL Newsradio team as a co-host of Cougar Sports Saturday with Alex Kirry for six years; traveling the country covering BYU football and basketball, he now has the honor to step-in for the legendary Doug Wright as Doug moves into semi-retirement. Dave and Dujanovic will premiere on June 4, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Dave met the love of his life, Sharlena, while dating her roommate—it’s all good, because she dated Dave’s roommate. They have four wonderful children and spend their free time doing sporty, churchy, and educationy stuff.

Debbie Dujanovic knew she wanted to be a news reporter by age 8.

She graduated Arizona State University in 1989 and immediately accepted a position as an assignment editor at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix.

In early 1990, she moved to Yuma, AZ where she anchored, reported and did weekend weather. Later that year she was on the move again, this time to Utah to accept a reporter position at the ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City where she covered breaking news, crime, education, consumer news, and military issues.

She moved to KSL-TV in 2000, where she reported on the morning show and later was named the station’s investigative reporter.

In 2009, she left KSL to become the spokesperson for the FBI Salt Lake City Division. With news still in her blood, she returned to KSL-TV in 2013 where she rejoined the station’s award-winning investigate team.

Just months ago Debbie joined Dave Noriega to host a daytime radio broadcast “Dave and Dujanovic” where they discuss Utah news, culture, and values.

Debbie has received numerous recognitions for her news coverage, including two national Society of Professional Journalist awards for her in-depth coverage of lax disclosure laws for homes contaminated with methamphetamine, and a documentary on officer-involved shootings.

When she arrived in Utah her goal was to report here for 3 years and move to a larger city. More than 25 years later she still loves living along the Wasatch Front and soaking up Utah’s outdoor activities with her family.
