SALT LAKE CITY — JayMac, along with guest Alex Kirry, Nightside podcast host, is lampooning ABC sitcom star, Roseanne Barr, who recently lost her job due to a racist tweet, with an “ad” for a new product: Roseambien.

Roseanne claimed she was on Ambien when she sent out her racist tweets. Kirry jokes in the video that since her comment, a new sleep aid was developed called ‘Roseambien’. “Roseambien – allowing you to have an excuse for going on racist rants. Side effects may include loss of your weird sitcom reboot. Ask your doctor if Roseambien is right for you.”

Despite Barr’s attempts to apologize on the social media platform, ABC was quick to cancel her sitcom.

ABC Entertainment Executive Channing Dungey said, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”

The swift cancelation came as a surprise to many due to the sitcoms high ratings, but many of her co-stars, including Wanda Sykes and Sara Gilbert, had already expressed their distaste for the comedian’s tweets.

Of course, Barr’s choice to claim her brain was addled while she was tweeting opened her up to a barrage of ridicule, not only from Jay McFarland and Alex Kirry, but Ambien maker Sanofi as well.

Sanofi Spokeswoman Ashleigh Koss released a written statement on behalf of the company that read, “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”
