Widlfires are burning in Emery, Duchesne and Wasatch Counties as we begin the second week of June.

The Willow Creek Fire near Strawberry Reservoir has closed at least one road as crews try to get a handle on the blaze.

The Forest Service says Bjorkman Road will be closed due to the Willow Creek Fire north of U.S. 40 and the reservoir starting Monday.

The lightning-caused fire has burned 453 acres since June 6 and is 10 percent contained.

A total of 85 firefighters are battling the flames in heavy timber with thick undergrowth, according to the Deseret News.

Another lightning-caused fire is the Strawberry River fire which began several miles south of Fruitland in Duchesne County on June 9th.

At first, wildfire officials said it had reached an estimated 300 acres. But Sunday night they put it at just under 100 acres.

Officials say there is no immediate threat to structures.

Then there’s the Trail Mountain Fire, on the Manti-La Sal National Forest, 15 miles northwest of Orangeville, Utah.

It spread to East Mountain when a spot fire from a prescribed burn was hit by high winds during a thunderstorm Wednesday afternoon.

The prescribed fire was declared a wildfire Wednesday night. As of Monday, it had burned 2,637 acres.

Last year in Utah, 62 percent of all fires were human-caused
