SALT LAKE CITY — Most Utahns support sending National Guard troops to the southern border with Mexico.

According to a new UtahPolicy.com survey 60% of Utahn’s support using national guard troops to help patrol the U-S Mexico border.

Governor Gary Herbert has yet to send any per President Donald Trump’s request but he has said they were “standing by” if called upon.

The Utah Policy poll shows there is a massive party divide on the issue, republican’s are support it while Democrats extremely oppose it. 54% of independents say they support the militarization of the border.

Several states have sent troops to back up border agents, nearly a dozen Governors announcing last week they were removing the aid because of the administration’s policy of separating children from families. The President has since ended that policy.
