SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Highway Patrol officials say an autopsy confirms it was likely a hit-and-run that killed a man whose body was found on the side of Interstate 215 on Saturday.

Lieutenant Todd Royce says the man’s body had been on the southbound side of the freeway in some tall weeds near 2100 north for up to three weeks before he was found by a construction worker.

Investigators say the body was badly decomposed and medical examiners are still trying to identify the man.

Royce says they’re now looking for the driver who may have hit him. They’re looking for a car that could have damage to the front right corner including a possible broken headlight.

Anyone with information should call Utah Highway Patrol at 801-887-3800.
