CARBONVILLE, Carbon County — The EPA is monitoring a crude oil spill.

A tanker truck crashed Thursday night on SR 6, and the cleanup efforts have taken hours.

The Utah Highway Patrol says the truck driver told investigators he got confused going through a construction zone, and headed into oncoming traffic. He hit the bridge and rolled.

It spilled around 8,000 gallons of waxy oil, some of which flowed into the Price River.

It is a significant cleanup, but authorities say the spill is not affecting drinking water or agricultural water.
