MIDVALE — The search is on for a carjacker who took off with a vehicle that had a 13-year-old girl and her 4-month-old sister inside.

Josslyn Millam and her baby sister were waiting inside the car at a Hart’s gas station at 335 W. 7200 South in Midvale while their mom went inside. That’s when Josslyn says the man jumped in and sped away.

“When he got in, he was pretty horrified we were in there,” Josslyn said.

Josslyn started hitting the man and pleading for him to take them back to the gas station.

“I just asked him to take me back to my mom, my mom needs my baby sister. He just looked me in the eyes. I started hitting him and he was like, ‘I’m sorry I won’t hurt you.’ Then he just pulled in here and left,” recalled Josslyn.

The man then pulled over near State Street and 6800 South and took off, leaving the girls and the car behind.

“It hasn’t hit me yet what happened. I’m probably going to be sitting at home and I”m going to be like, ‘whoa! OK great,'” said Josslyn.

The Unified Police Department is asking that anyone with information give them a call at at 801-743-7000.
