ST. GEORGE — Southern Utah beekeepers are offering a cash reward leading to the arrests of vandals attacking their beehives.

Beekeepers are looking for the “scum that keeps stealing our livelihood!”

On his Facebook page, Washington County Bee Inspector Casey Lofthouse says they’re offering $3,800 to catch the crooks who have broken and stolen their honey boxes, beehive equipment, and 100 queen bees.

Lofthouse says the thieves know what they’re doing in yards with little cellphone range.

He adds beekeepers must review hundreds of hours of surveillance video for clues if they have any video.
