KAMAS — A bowhunter survived a cougar attack this morning near the Mirror Lake Highway about three miles east of Kamas.

The man’s injuries were not serious and he refused medical treatment.

Phil Douglass with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources says we all need to be aware that cougars and other predators are out there.

Summit County and state officials spent some time searching for the mountain lion, but did not find it.
