SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz will be reuniting Donovan Mitchell with his Louisville teammate Trey Lewis for the team’s 2018 training camp.

The organization signed Lewis Tuesday to be a part of training camp, but the details of those negotiations were not released. He was part of the team’s Summer League roster this season and he discussed with the Deseret News in July of the irony of coming to Utah with Mitchell.

“I give him stuff all the time about that because he came in as a freshman while I was a senior at Louisville,” Lewis said, laughing. “I was the guy showing him the ropes and now he’s teaching me drills in here, so it’s always funny how life works and how things come around, so it’s awesome.”

Lewis is a native of Garfield Heights, Ohio. He originally began his collegiate career at Penn State before leaving to play two seasons at Cleveland State. He finished his senior year (2015-2016) playing for Louisville. He averaged 11.3 points per game, pulled down 3.4 rebounds per game, and dished out 2.3 assists per contest.

During the 2017-18 season Lewis played overseas for a couple of teams in Germany. On the Utah Jazz’s Summer League roster he appeared in four games averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 18.6 minutes per game.
