SALT LAKE CITY — Event organizers say they will make changes to security and traffic procedures following two deaths at a recent music festival at the Great Saltair.

Dance music production company V-2 Presents says it is rethinking operations with plans to improve security by providing additional training as well as outfitting staff in more visible uniforms.

The company also says it will place more staff and police officers in parking lots to address traffic issues at larger events — even considering partnerships with shuttles and rideshares.

These changes follow two deaths at the Das Energi festival last month — where a 20-year-old woman died from a drug overdose and a 28-year-old man died after falling from an I-80 overpass and potentially being struck by multiple vehicles.

In a statement issued today, the company did not mention either incident.
