SALT LAKE  CITY – The Utah Jazz season is right around the corner and players took to social media today to reveal a throwback jersey the team will sport this upcoming season.

Looks like players will wear the purple and gold jerseys Jazz greats John Stockton and Karl Malone wore towards the beginning of their careers. The purple pays tribute to the colors sported from 1984-1995. The current players seem excited to don the uniforms.

Utah Jazz forward Jae Crowder also took to his Instagram account to pay homage to his father, Corey Crowder, who played with the organization during the 1991-1992 NBA season.

There has been no confirmation on the team sporting the purple and gold’s white counterparts.

It will be one of six jerseys the team will be able to wear during the 2018-2019 season. They will be able to wear the four uniforms it wore last year including the City Edition jersey. The Jazz will also don a special jersey for the Christmas Day game when they take on the Portland Trailblazers at home.

Training camp is set to begin next Tuesday and the Jazz’s first preseason game will be at Vivint Smart Home Arena September 29th. The organization will also hold a “Meet the Team” event September 28th.
