OGDEN — A late-night military training frightened Ogden residents. Now, their mayor is apologizing.

Mayor Mike Caldwell says Ogden officials underestimated the intensity and noise of the military training exercises, which included helicopters, at the IGA Building.

They also thought the contractor running them, F3EA, would go door-to-door telling neighbors.

Officials added CodeRED only told residents signed up for the emergency notification service, and they should have used social media to catch the others who were not signed up.

Caldwell apologized on Facebook, pledging to make improvements.

He added F3EA had all the right permits and contacts with police for the loud, realistic urban training.
