Is counting votes in the 4th Congressional race taking too long?

SALT LAKE CITY – The election was nine days ago and the margin between the two candidates for the 4th Congressional race is closer than ever.

Mail-in ballots from both Utah and Salt Lake Counties continue to be counted, with controversy over how signatures are being reviewed.  Yesterday, incumbent Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah, filed a lawsuit to stop the count in Salt Lake County.

Utah Lt. Governor Spencer J. Cox, whose office is in charge of all elections statewide, joined Brian and Amanda of KSL Newsradio’s Morning show to discuss why counting ballots takes so long.

Currently, Salt Lake County Mayor, Ben McAdams, a Democrat, holds a less-than-900 vote lead over Love.
