SALT LAKE CITY – We all have an idea of the process of being called to jury duty being citizens of the state of Utah and a professional basketball player is no different. Donovan Mitchell got a jury duty notice as well.

Don’t worry Jazz fans, the organization’s got your back. Mitchell will not miss any games to perform his civic duty. The team wrote a letter back saying Utah Jazz star was just too busy.

“Mr. Mitchell’s juror qualification form was completed online this morning, and we asked that Mr. Mitchell be excused from jury service during this time given his commitments and schedule during the NBA season,” the letter wrote.

So the shooting guard has been excused, but Mitchell may have been just slightly disappointed.

“I wanted to do it, to be honest with you,” Mitchell told UtahJazz.com. “But you know … .”

The Jazz star is not the only NBA player to ever receive one as Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James received one in 2013.
