SALT LAKE CITY — Utah lawmakers are reacting to President Trump’s speech about the shutdown and the border wall.

Utah Senator Mike Lee agrees with the President that the US needs more wall and more help at the southern border.

The three House Republicans from Utah also released statements saying both parties need to come together to end the shutdown and secure the border.

But Utah’s newest Democrat took issue with the president’s speech. Representative Ben McAdams says the impasse is unproductive, unnecessary and harms lawmakers ability to resolve serious issues.

Senator Mitt Romney has not yet responded.
