ST. GEORGE — A missing Utah teen is the subject of a memorial bench, unveiled Monday in St. George, more than three years after he disappeared.

Macin Smith was 17-years-old when he was last seen on Sept. 1, 2015. Supporters from all over the country have helped Smith’s friends and family in multiple searches for him, but no trace has ever been found.

The bench, which was placed at Crimson Ridge Park, features Smith’s likeness etched into a metal background and the phrase, “Never Give Up; Never Surrender.” It was donated by FX Industries, a metal-working company based in nearby Hurricane.

Smith, a nephew of KSL Newsradio talk show host Jay Mcfarland, did not have his wallet or cell phone with him when he left his home on Sept. 1, 2015. His parents have said they believed he had nothing more with him than the clothes he was wearing.
