Neighborhood House has been providing quality preschool, early education, and day care to support Salt Lake City’s low-income children and adults. And now they are growing a community garden. Neighborhood House is located on 5th South at about 10th West in Salt Lake City and for more than a century has been a great example of how Utah Gives Back.
Since 2012, Neighborhood House has transformed an overgrown parcel of land into a flourishing community garden. The non-profit provides the equipment, supplies, and resources. This project gives community members and students the chance to grow their own produce, learn about healthy behaviors, and feed their families. Even area food pantries have received their fruits and vegetables from Neighborhood House.
The garden provides families, community residents, and students a space to affordably cultivate organic produce and promote healthier lifestyles.
