Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse (or CAPSA) is a nonprofit organization in Logan, Utah dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Independence Place is their transitional housing program. It provides safe housing and supportive services for individuals and their children who are fleeing domestic violence. The program teaches independent living skills and healthy relationships.

CAPSA created a community garden where families enrolled in the program can grow their own produce to promote inexpensive, healthy eating and cooking skills. Families help prepare the garden and create watering and weeding schedules among themselves to maintain the garden. This not only provides fresh produce, but also promotes family time, skill building, and enhances self-esteem.

CAPSA also has a 24-hour crisis line, a mobile crisis response team, support groups, prevention education, and emergency shelter and food. They envision a place of peace and friendship, where families can create healthy lives.

SelectHealth recognizes the restorative services provided by CAPSA as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
