Every parent wants to keep their child safe from injury but often are unsure of where to find current prevention guidelines. Safe Kids Iron County is an injury prevention coalition in Southern Utah that provides resources and helps educate the local community about safety matters.

Safe Kids Iron County is helping to prevent childhood injuries by providing car seats and helmets at a low cost to encourage their use. They also educate parents on how to properly install car seats in vehicles and teach children the importance of wearing a helmet every time they ride.
Injury prevention programs in the schools are provided, such as Walk to School Day and bike rodeos. They also work in the schools to teach kids how to safely walk or bike to school, and teach teenagers the importance of safe driving. Finally, they provide car seat inspection checkpoints in Cedar City and outlying rural areas.

The organization is affiliated with Safe Kids Worldwide. You can find information on how to protect your family at safekids.org.

SelectHealth recognizes the critical resources provided by Safe Kids Iron County as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
