The Queen Center was founded in 2003 as a grassroots organization to help Pacific Islanders in Utah. They uphold customs and tradition while striving to motivate, empower, and support Pacific Islanders to live a healthy lifestyle. This is a community working together and taking action to improve individual health and wellness by providing culturally meaningful resources, tobacco prevention, advocacy, and education.
One of the ways they strive to help is by offering opportunities to connect with valuable resources and programs that are available to keep you healthy, such as Pacific Islander Health Week.
Each year, The Queen Center hosts the MANA 5K to bring awareness to Pacific Islander health issues and disparities by encouraging physical activity in the community. The proceeds from the event are then given to families that have health issues and need funding to pay for medical expenses. The 5th Annual MANA 5K event will be on June 24th at Liberty Park. SelectHealth recognizes the community resources from The Queen Center as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
