Intense snow accumulations cause rare Utah school closures

SALT LAKE CITY — With snow falling at a rate of one to two inches per hour and accumulations well over what was initially forecast, there are a number of Utah schools made the rare decision to close school or delay opening on Wednesday.
A winter storm warning was in effect through six p.m. with KSL meteorologist Grant Weyman forecasting an additional five to ten inches by the end of the day.
