SPANISH FORK, Utah — A 50-year-old female is in critical condition Thursday night after UHP spokesman Jacob Cox says she was hit by a car shortly after 6 p.m.  Cox says the accident happened in dark conditions where there was low light on SR 147 at 3000W, between Lake Shore and Spanish Fork in Utah Co.

“The woman was hit westbound on SR 147 in an area where there are low-light conditions.  There aren’t a lot of street lights and it was dark outside.  It could have been difficult for the driver to see, and it is not known whether reflective clothing was worn.  Troopers are gonna try to put those puzzle pieces together and try to figure out exactly what happened,” according to Sgt. Cox.

Early in the investigation, Cox says it does not appear that it was a hit-and-run.  SR 147 was closed for a time late Thursday night.
