North Ogden City Council meeting evacuated due to shooting threat
Feb 13, 2019, 9:45 AM
NORTH OGDEN – The North Ogden City Council meeting had to be evacuated after a man called police threatening to shoot up the building.
City Council members were discussing a pond last night before police set up a perimeter shortly after learning about the threat. The caller had said he was inside the building.
However, Meg Sanders, who was attending with her mother, says officers told the mayor and some council members about the threat, but they didn’t warn the public for another half hour and continued the meeting with the lights on.
The city has not commented on these allegations.
The building was eventually evacuated and attendees were searched, along with their cell phones. The threat was then deemed not credible.
No suspect information, or what they may have been upset about, has been released.
