SANDY-A day after a “no drink order” was lifted in Sandy, close to a hundred volunteers hit the streets to collect samples from their neighbors taps.

The city plans on testing the water to give residents peace of mind, according to Deputy Mayor Evelyn Everton.

The city was heavily criticized for waiting a week before telling residents that a fluoride spill had stripped the pipes, causing elevated levels of lead and copper to seep into the water. The water sickened several people, including a three-month-old baby.

The tests should be done by the end of the week, according to Everton.
