BASE jumper rescued after parachute snags on cliff

GRAND COUNTY — A “ledged-out” BASE jumper was rescued from a cliff in Grand County’s “Wall Street” area Sunday.

Crews from Grand County Search and Rescue, Grand County Emergency Medical Services, Bureau of Land Management Rangers and Classic Air Medical worked to free the jumper, whose parachute snagged on a cliff about 2/3 up the rock face. The incident occurred near Highway 279.

The rescued person sustained no significant injuries, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.
