Three times in the past month, mountain cabins in Utah have been destroyed by propane explosions. The latest incident happened yesterday in the Timber Lakes subdivision near Heber City.
There was no one inside the cabin on Cottonwood Lane when it blew up and scattered debris through the nearby aspen trees. Janet Carson with the Wasatch County Fire District says, “It was immediately and fully engulfed, and when we got here, the roof had collapsed and it’s a total loss.”
Some windows in the house next door were blown out, but nobody was hurt.
A woman was injured in a similar explosion in the same subdivision a month ago, and four people were hurt when a cabin in Duck Creek Village near Panguitch was destroyed by a propane explosion on February 23rd.
