Donovan Mitchell: good Samaritan deed goes viral

SALT LAKE CITY,  Utah — Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell is doing good things on and off the court, after Twitter and Instagram posts showing him helping after a car crash went viral.

It just after 3 pm on Sunday after practice, and two cars had crashed near 400 South and West Temple.

The Deseret News reports Mitchell pulled over to help, called 911 and was spotted helping the driver of one of the cars.

Margarita Terry posted a picture on Twitter and Instagram, and told the Deseret News,  “Honestly he seemed super genuine and concerned for them. I can’t imagine very many athletes that would do something like this. I am sure he doesn’t want the credit but he deserves it.”

Mitchell talked about it briefly after Monday night’s win.

“I just wanted to make sure everybody was OK,” he said.  “It was just natural, just going out there and making sure she was OK.”

He said a number of other people got out of their cars to help.
