These numbers are unacceptable and Safe Kids Worldwide is doing something about it. Through
their extensive network of local coalitions and partners, they help communities keep their
children safe.
Since 1988 they have reduced the childhood death rate in the United States by over
50%. This has been done through research, education, awareness programs, and policy
changes. They provide information on a variety of topics, from medication safety to proper car
seat installation.
There are Safe Kids Coalitions around the world – and in Utah alone, there are nine
chapters. Two of the local chapters are holding Safe Kids Fairs this month and will include
activities, fire trucks, fun, and more. The Davis County Fair is Saturday, May 11 th and the Salt
