HOUSTON — The Utah Jazz got knocked out of the NBA playoffs Wednesday night following a 100-93 loss to the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center in Houston taking the first-round playoff series 4-1.
Ricky Rubio cut Houston’s lead to 94-93 on a jump shot with about a minute left. P.J. Tucker made up for missing two free-throws a short time later by grabbing a loose ball before being fouled again. This time he made both shots, getting the Rockets back up to 96-93.
James Harden, who finished the game with 26 points, blocked a shot by Rudy Gobert on the next possession, making two free-throws to extend the lead to 98-93 with 38 seconds left.
Donovan Mitchell, 4-of-22 Wednesday night, missed a 3-pointer after that, with Chris Paul adding two more free throws to seal the win and the series.
The Jazz made 9 of 38 3-pointers. Joe Ingles finished with 11 points and 9 assists. Ricky Rubio had 11 assists.
