WEST VALLEY CITY — West Valley City police are investigating a deadly shooting at an apartment complex near 4600 S. 2930 W.
People reported hearing shots Sunday morning around 1:40 a.m. at the Overlook Apartments. Police responded and didn’t find anything near the apartments, but found the body of Jake Gengelbach, 22, at the Hires Big H nearby on 4700 S.
Lt. Justin Wyckoff says the shooting suspect is still at large.
“We’re looking for anyone who has information — video, or if they heard or saw a car,” Wyckoff said.
Police say they found shell casings around Gengelbach’s body. They said a motive was unclear.
