OREM, Utah — Around 8:30 Thursday morning at 400 South and 1843 West in Orem the Southbound FrontRunner resulting in the death of a 62-year-old man according to officials.

His name was not immediately released.

UTA Spokesman Carl Arkey said that, “According to the reports I have received the car rolled several times and came to a stop upside down.  First responders extricated the passenger of the vehicle.  At this time we believe there was only one person in the car at the time of the incident.

“All indications are, at this time, that the warning signals were all functioning properly and the arm at the crossing gate was down and in position.”

UTA Police Sgt. Dalan Taylor said that the man’s car was in front of the arms when they went down resting on the back of the car when he was hit.

Taylor says they are not sure if the car was trying to drive under the arm or if the vehicle was parked under the arm when it came down.
