UTAH COUNTY, Utah – Crews responded to an injured paraglider near the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office say a report came in of a paraglider seen falling to the ground.

“We have life flight on the way right now,” said Cannon. “We’re anticipating we will have to conduct a hoist operation to get the victim out. It is in a steep area that is very difficult to access.”

Cannon also confirmed the paraglider is in significant pain, but is communicating with authorities.

He says, for now, there is no indication of life-threatening injuries, but did say the man was experiencing back pain and it appears to be serious.
