MILLCREEK, Utah — A paramedic/firefighter who was hit by a car near Millcreek Canyon on Sunday has been released from the hospital.

Keith Garner with the Unified Fire Authority said the paramedic was side-swiped while responding to another 911 call.

“It’s bad enough already when you hear that a pedestrian was hit, you worry about that. Then you find out it was one of your own, and then everyone gets heightened and worried.”

The vehicle was heading up the canyon near 7901 Millcreek Canyon Rd. at around 1 p.m. when it struck the paramedic who was heading back to his fire truck.

Other first responders took the paramedic to the hospital and the Unified Police Department is investigating the accident.
