CORINNE — Box Elder County Sheriff’s deputies say a 16-year old whose body was found Thursday morning in a park did not die where he was found.

Deputies were called to Bill Flack Park in Corinne around 8:30 a.m. They later identified the victim as 16-year-old Marcus Elkins.

Authorities say there was no external sign of any kind of trauma on Elkins’ body.  But they added, their investigation revealed Elkins did not die at the park and that he was brought there sometime after his death.

In a statement, the Box Elder County Sheriff’s office said the Utah State Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to help determine the cause and manner of death.

“Leads that detectives have are being followed at this time,” said the statement. “More information is coming forward rapidly.”

Detectives have identified persons of interest in the case.  They identified those people as juveniles who may have first-hand knowledge to aid in the investigation.
