SPRINGVILLE, Utah — The Alaska Fire burning just south of Provo has grown to 450 acres after burning through the night, and forestry officials say it is likely human-caused.

Residents first reported the fire around 10:50 pm Tuesday night. Burning above the Bonneville Shoreline Trail near Oregon and Alaska Avenues, the fire is east and north of Springville and just 10 percent contained.

This near where the Round Peak Fire burned a couple of weeks ago.

Provo Fire and Rescue say the brush fire is currently burning uphill and no structures are threatened.

There are currently no evacuations in place. Other than to say the fire is human-caused, officials say it is under investigation.

Multiple agencies are involved in fighting the fire. The National Forest Service said in a statement the fire remains active. Crews have been using air support to drop water and fire retardant on the flames.
