For over forty years The Family Support Centers have been protecting children, strengthening families, and preventing child abuse. The centers were established in response to a pressing need for short-term crisis and respite care for children at risk for abuse or neglect.

They have expanded to offer a network of programs to address issues facing families today including free care for children through the crisis nursery, parenting support, housing, counseling, and community classes. There are 17 locations throughout the state to serve and provide support to the community.

Last year, The Family Support Centers served more than eight thousand children, over 6,000 families, and provided almost 144,000 hours of direct care. Volunteers play a vital role in the center’s programs by contributing over 13,000 hours of volunteer time. For more information about their services or to volunteer, visit utahfamilies.org.

SelectHealth recognizes the charitable work provided by The Family Support Centers as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
