PROVO, Utah – Provo Police say a former employee broke into Seven Peaks Waterpark, sawed open a safe, and stole $15,000.

The man, who has not been named because he has not been charged yet, is accused of jumping a fence sometime over the weekend of July 13-15, then going inside the men’s bathroom next to the office where the safe was.

Police say he then cut a hole in the bathroom ceiling, used a garbage can to climb through the opening, climbed along the rafters and cut another hole in the ceiling when he slipped into the safe room.

Which is when police say he then opened the safe taking the cash and other valuables.

Police say the man knew where the secret room was because he had helped build the facility.

Court records show he had fought with another employee then texted a second about “bringing the place down” a few days before the heist.
